Naveid P. Jahansouz

Naveid Jahansouz is a Tax Senior Manager and a member of the Tax Controversy Group, with nearly 10 years of experience providing comprehensive tax services with a focus on IRS examinations, collections, penalty abatements, offshore compliance, federal tax liens, and more.

As an attorney, Naveid prides himself on treating every client’s matter as if it is own. He assisted a client repatriate cash and gold from Switzerland after disclosing the existence of these assets to the IRS and obtaining immunity under the offshore voluntary disclosure program (OVDP). Naveid also successfully requested abatement of a six-figure penalty for a doctor who failed to pay his taxes on time due to anxiety and depression he was facing during a difficult divorce. Recently, he helped obtain abatement of $2 million penalty for a trust.

Prior to joining the firm Naveid was also a Manager with Goldin Peiser & Peiser, LLP (GPP), a leading full-service audit and accounting firm in Dallas, where he was responsible for the IRS defense services team and represented taxpayers in controversies with the IRS, including collections, audits, appeals, and other tax controversy matters.

Before joining GPP, Naveid was an Associate Attorney at a boutique tax controversy and litigation law firm. He represented taxpayers in IRS audits, appeals, collections matters, and criminal investigations.

Naveid has presented externally to law firms and professional associations on topics, including IRS collections, trust fund recovery penalty investigations and appeals, tax matters that arise out of divorces, offshore compliance, and return preparer investigations.
